MAY IS ALS AWARENESS MONTH
May is ALS Awareness Month Each of us knows someone who has been impacted by ALS. We know it is a terminal disease for which there is no cure. Still, many of us are aware that our medical community and our community in general know very little about it. I’m challenging myself to reach out to as many people as possible with ribbons, emails, letters and social media posts this May. I would like to challenge you to join me in the conversation. I challenge you to wear a red ribbon during the month of May-ALS Awareness month. Maybe carry several red ribbons in your pocket so that if others should ask about your ribbon, you can offer them some information on ALS and provide them with a ribbon as well.Increasing ALS awareness is crucial in building resources for ongoing care and research for treatment and a cure. Awareness comes through hosting ALS educational events, providing space for an ALS support group, sponsoring an ALS Walk team or volunteering with a local ALS Chapter. It also means having conversations about ALS so that people impacted by ALS do not feel alone. Please feel free to copy any part of this message that speaks to you 😊 and share with your networksPlease share the ALS Association contact information with anyone who needs it: ALSA.org or call 1-800-782-4747 nationwide. The ALS Association Northern New England Chapter serves Maine, New Hampshire and Vermont with local information available at ALSANNE.org or 1-866-257-6663.
